General Footcare

- Reduction of cracked dry heels
- Treatment of thickened and fungal nails
- Ingrowing toenail advice and treatment
Ingrowing Toenails
With an ingrown toenail, it can often be extremely painful.
The nail penetrates the skin surrounding the edges. It will curl and can cause callous in the nail fold. There are many reasons why you may experience an ingrown toenail – for example due to genetics, injury or a fungal infection. Because of this, it is important to wear properly fitted shoes (not tight) and cut your nails appropriately.
Treatments include:
- Removal of the ingrown section of nail
- Regular maintenance
- Infection management
- Nail surgery
Diabetic Foot Assessment
It is recommended to have your feet checked at least annually or more frequent, dependent on the level of risk of developing foot complications due to Diabetes.
Did you know that if you have Diabetes or any other Chronic Health Condition you can receive a care plan from your GP which entitles you to up to 5 visits per year paid by Medicare? Speak to your GP if you think you would be eligible. Anyone with a care plan will be BULK BILLED.
During the assessment we check the blood flow to your feet with a doppler and ensure the sensation to your feet is within a normal range. This is the perfect opportunity for you to ask your Podiatrist any questions.
Exercise Therapy
Focusing on your strength to ensure long term treatment success.
This is tailored to your specific lower limb condition.
Verrucca Treatments
Warts are among the most common dermatologic conditions the Podiatrist treats. Plantar warts, also known as Verruca Plantaris, are caused by the human Papillomavirus (HPV), which is a double-stranded DNA virus.
Foot Mobilisation Therapy
Do you feel like there’s a restriction in your joints? Are your feet painful?
Often, subtle, controlled movements of the joints help to increase movements and reduce pain.
